Salento. One of the most picturesque places to visit – not only in Italy, not only in Europe, but the whole world. This peninsula offers stunning vistas, impeccable coastlines, and a way of life that is unrivalled.

Interwoven into the varied and tumultuous history of this region are some of the most beautiful yet heart-breaking stories, accompanied with a sense of community that binds this place together. This Southern section of Puglia is, in my opinion, the most beautiful place in Italy. The sky meets the sea to create a stunning mix of the purest blues, creating the perfect canvas for a glazing and relentless sun that warms the skin, the heart and the soul.

Along the western side of the Ionion sea, there are numerous notable cities and areas that each provide their own immaculate views and enriched history, as well as different dialects and delicacies which serve to embolden the identity of each town. From larger settlements like Nardò , Santa Maria de Leuca, and Gallipoli – from where we set sail – to the smaller seaside towns like Santa Maria al Bagno and Santa Caterina, hosting the natural regional park of Porto Selvaggio – a protected area that culminates with a perfect and tranquil beach. Each destination is worthy of a visit, to paint a true picture of Italian life.

Wherever you decide to visit in Puglia, it will be – without a shadow of a doubt – an excellent choice, and you will enjoy every moment you spend here. There is a famous song in Italy entitled ‘il cielo è sempre più blu’ – this translates to ‘the sky is always more blue’. I can think of no better place that this is demonstrated than Salento.

From all of us at Sea Luxury Yachts, we wish you a very pleasant stay, and buon viaggio!
